Getting old with your own teeth

Think about the care of the interdental spaces early!

Did you know that the spaces between the teeth account for around one third of the tooth surface? Where the toothbrush can only reach with difficulty or not at all, caries bacteria find the best conditions to multiply. Depending on their appearance, food residues and bacterial plaque settle in the interdental spaces. The consequences are caries, gum disease and bad breath. Cleaning the interdental spaces is an essential part of a comprehensive dental care strategy that also focuses on the dental health of tomorrow.

The products for successful long-term dental care are dental floss and special brushes called interdental brushes. They make it possible to clean especially larger interdental spaces, braces, bridges and fillings more thoroughly. For the narrow interdental spaces and for cleaning the contact points between the teeth, the dental floss is suitable.

This is the best way to proceed with interdental care:

Start your oral hygiene by using interdental brushes to remove the coarser food debris in the wider interdental trees. These come in a wide variety of strengths. This is followed by the use of dental floss. Proceed accordingly so that you do not skip any interdental space. Then brush the teeth thoroughly, preferably with a soft toothbrush and a fluoride-containing remineralizing toothpaste. Here, too, a systematic approach helps: start with the difficult areas first, eg with the inner surfaces of the teeth at the top, then the inner surfaces of the teeth at the bottom, then the outer surfaces, side surfaces and chewing surfaces.

Favored by dentists: The Bass technique

The so-called Bass technique is the brushing technique favored by most dentists. I fully endorse this opinion: Place the toothbrush against the gums and teeth at an angle of about 45 to 60 degrees. Press the bristles lightly against the teeth and gums and make small, lightly circling or shaking movements. In this way, you gently and thoroughly loosen plaque. Depending on the section of tooth, you should repeat these movements at least ten times. You can also use the Bass technique with a sonic toothbrush, but this is far more efficient than with a manual toothbrush. You can find a sonic toothbrush of the technically latest generation with 42,000 vibrations per minute in my store. The SNOW PEARL Ultrasoft sonic toothbrush generates small pressure waves that foam toothpaste and liquid into the narrowest interdental spaces. The very soft KONEX HD Super-Soft bristles are eight times finer at their tip than conventional bristles. Nevertheless, they are strong enough to penetrate into narrow interdental spaces. They clean thoroughly there without damaging the gums. With the coordinates SNOW PEARL products, you are perfectly equipped for optimal dental care and dental esthetics. It is an investment in the future of your teeth. It is simply nice to grow old with your own teeth. With this goal in mind, the daily effort of dental care including cleaning the interdental spaces should be worthwhile. It has been shown that learning the correct tooth brushing technique should ideally begin in childhood. This way, the actions become an integral part of the daily cleaning ritual - armor for life. Show your children how to brush properly!
